About Me
My name is Maitreyi Chandra
My journey with NeuralMelodies began at the intersection of my two greatest passions: music and neuroscience. Having taken voice lessons since the second grade, I have always understood music as a powerful tool for expression. However, it was my work with neurodivergent children that truly sparked my mission. I’ve witnessed firsthand how kids with ADHD and Autism are often misunderstood or sidelined by activities that are either too overstimulating or understimulating. After seeing a child transform from nonverbal and scared to expressive and calm through targeted therapy , I realized that every child deserves that same chance at happiness.
My goal is to use my musical background and scientific training to help neurodivergent children understand themselves, find their passions, and build lasting bonds.

My Mission
My mission is to empower neurodivergent students by providing sensory-friendly musical tools that foster self-understanding and joy.
Why Choose Neural Melodies?
Here are four compelling reasons why our approach stands out in supporting neurodivergent children:
Evidence-Based Neuroscience

The "Music as a Bridge" Methodology
Passion-Driven Growth
Safety and Professional Integrity

My Research
My academic foundation is built on a commitment to clinical inquiry and the study of innovative neurological interventions. A cornerstone of this work is my research paper titled, “Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: Analyzing Emerging Treatment Approaches for Treatment-Resistant Cases,” which I authored under the mentorship of Dr. Kathryn Wilwohl, Profesor at University of Mississippi.
This study involved a deep dive into neuromodulation techniques, specifically Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), as well as the pharmacological properties of the drug Rapastinel. This rigorous investigation into treatment-resistant conditions, combined with my internship shadowing neuroscientists at HNBC to study biomarkers, allows me to approach NeuralMelodies with a high degree of technical expertise. By integrating this high-level research with my studies in the “Unquiet Minds” summer course on neurological disorders, I am able to advocate for neurodivergent children using a data-driven, scientifically-backed methodology.
